The Ukrainian medical platform CheckEye, which detects signs of diabetic retinopathy using artificial intelligence (AI), has become part of Gesundheitskiosk24 by Aspilos GmbH. This innovative concept provides health status checks, such as blood analysis or vitamin levels, with results available on a mobile phone within 24 hours. The collaboration began in Heidelberg, Germany, and soon the services of Gesundheitskiosk24 will be available throughout the country. CheckEye has perfectly complemented the product line by adding a powerful tool for mass screening of a common complication of a serious disease.
Kirill Goncharuk, founder of CheckEye, said: “The entry of the Ukrainian AI platform into the Western European healthcare market is a recognition of the high competitiveness of the synergy between Ukrainian medical and IT sectors. Based on our positive experience in Ukraine (nearly 4,000 people screened with an accuracy of over 93%), we plan to provide access to screening for millions of people in Germany in collaboration with the Gesundheitskiosk24 platform.”
Today, the CheckEye medical platform operates on two AI algorithms and allows for the rapid, accurate, and relatively inexpensive detection of signs of diabetic retinopathy, making it a unique tool for mass screening. The platform combines the expertise of specialists from the V.P. Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and the IT team of CheckEye.
